We recently shared a classic Strawberry-Spinach Salad with an Asian twist – using our Japanese Seven Spice to make a tangy vinaigrette. It was a hit with family & friends, so I decided to add the recipe into a section of my cooking class last week, as a dressing for radish & cucumber salad.
That brings me to a quick & easy cooking tip: Once you’ve established a recipe on your go-to list, occasionally add just one spice to the ingredients to jazz up a dish you love.
So today, I’m spicing up my favorite Asian Vinaigrette with fresh ginger, and mixing it into a colorful Zucchini Slaw.
With our Japanese Seven Spice as a base to the vinaigrette, the freshly grated ginger gives the Zucchini Slaw an extra kick and added health benefits.
A great combination this time of year with many of us thinking more about the health of our bodies. Thoughts that may begin with how we look, but hopefully, thoughts that lead us to focus more inward about how our bodies feel.
Finding ways to add more spices into daily salads is only one part to building a healthier diet this summer, but it’s a tasty place to start.
To encourage all the participants in my recent cooking class to incorporate at least a few healthy Asian-inspired dishes into their diet, I gave them each a jar of our Japanese Seven Spice – to add it on rice and noodle dishes, mix it into a vinaigrette, or even just sprinkle it onto sliced avocado.
After the class, I thought about all of you. Sharing recipes & tips here is helpful, but just like in the class, if you leave without something tangible in your hands, you may not feel like you have somewhere to start.
So I’d like to give you a jar of Japanese Seven Spice with your next order. Just add a free jar into your shopping cart by Sunday, June 1st, before checking out.
