Passion Fruit Vanilla Shake

Passion Fruit Vanilla Shake by Season with Spice

Less sugar, more vanilla

Sugar takes the edge off sourish fruits like passion fruit, but a healthier option is to cut down on the sugar, and be generous with the vanilla.  The rich, smooth flavor of vanilla can enhance the taste of a dessert while balancing the harsher elements of its ingredients.

Passion Fruit Vanilla Shake for the summer by Season with Spice

So while I usually recommend a light touch when adding in spices to a recipe, this time go a little crazy with the vanilla to create a delightful, tropical Passion Fruit Vanilla Shake.

Makes 2 servings

Ingredients:
2 fresh passion fruit
1 orange – peeled
2 tsp pure vanilla extract or 1 tsp of vanilla paste (or add in more!)
1 cup milk 8-10 ice cubes
Sugar to taste (if the orange is sweet enough, and you use plenty of vanilla, you probably won’t need to add any sugar)

Process:
1. Slice open passion fruits and scoop out the fruit and seeds into a blender.  Then add in the rest of the ingredients and blend well.
