Thank you so much for sharing it with me. We visited some villages a while back where torch gingers grow like weeds. Knowing their culinary values, it was really special to see them up close. Similar to your experience, we were almost eaten alive by the mosquitos!:) I don't get to use the ginger flower now since we moved to the States, so I really miss adding it to my salads and soups.Season with Spicehttp://www.seasonwithspice.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-488443880886773768.post-28661494935344828062012-08-05T06:11:25.377-07:002012-08-05T06:11:25.377-07:00Reese,

We picked torched ginger in the mountains of where I grew up, a place i can't visit anymore so I can't call it a name. I didn't know torch ginger is edible and one day, if I make it back home, I will try it and share with childhood friends who will be just as surprised as I was. Finding them in the wild is a beautiful, mosquito-swarmed experience.

LisaLisanoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-488443880886773768.post-19073872280748299342011-09-25T14:57:31.211-07:002011-09-25T14:57:31.211-07:00A different twist to the regular fried staple. I had never seen or heard of ginger flowers before this, and now I'm wishing that Chicago had a more tropical climate so I could always have them in my backyard!Tanvi Hathiwalahttp://profiles.google.com/tanvilunoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-488443880886773768.post-34646911098426395722011-09-22T23:41:13.525-07:002011-09-22T23:41:13.525-07:00Oh yes, I'm VERY hungry for this!
