Until I read your story I had all but forgotten about Dad and the bees. Each time I get stung I get a bigger reaction, so I know I won't be the family to carry on this tradition.

Hi Mark and Reese -
What a nice tribute to our family. We used to play dress-up and put on the beekeeping clothes.
Once I remember watching as Dad captured a swarm of bees. He put a big white sheet on the ground under the swarm. He put the hive box under the swarm and knocked the swarm off the branch where it was hanging. Some of the swarm fell into the box and many bees fell on the sheet. I remember Dad watching and being pleased when he realized he had gotten the queen into the box. The rest of the bees then followed right into the hive and he closed it up.
