Hi Vicky - I looked up the web and found some suggestions on where you can find galangal & kaffir lime leaves in DC. Not sure if they are near you, but hope they are useful.

1. 902 Thayer Ave, Silver Spring, 20910 - (301) 495-2779. There's another thai market in bailey's crossroads that's affiliated with Duangrat's/Rabieng.

2. A small store called Thai Market, off 29.

3. Que Hong Market

Some said they spotted kaffir lime leaves at Whole Foods, but the stock was inconsistent. May be worth a try. I would use the frozen lime leaves and replace galangal with ginger if I really crave for it:)
