Matcha Chai Latte

Matcha Chai Latte by SeasonWithSpice.com

Smooth and sweet with the first sip, then spicy as it settles on the back of your tongue.  It looks like a cup of matcha - a rich, creamy green - but that lingering, wakening, delectable sensation tells your taste buds this drink is much more.

Matcha Chai Latte combines the best of two warming, welcoming, wintery drinks into one mug.

Matcha Chai Tea Blend available at SeasonWithSpice.com

Our Matcha Chai Tea Blend begins with our premium Japanese matcha powder, which is blended carefully with a touch of warming spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, clove, and more.  Just enough spice to create that tingling effect of chai without overpowering the soothing flavor of matcha.  Finally, we add a hint of our premium Ceylon tea powder to balance the blend, and to give the drink even more depth and richness.

Matcha Chai Latte is one of our personal favorite drinks at night this time of year when we just want to melt the worries of the day away.

How to make Matcha Chai Latte recipe by SeasonWithSpice.com

Matcha Chai Latte
Makes one serving

Ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of water
1.5 – 2 teaspoons of sugar
1 – 1.5 teaspoons of Season with Spice's Matcha Chai Tea Blend

Method:
1. Add all ingredients into a small pot, and whisk vigorously to dissolve sugar and matcha.
2. Heat on low fire until just beginning to boil (whisking occasionally while it heats), then turn fire off, cover the pot, and let steep for 5-10 minutes.
3. Before serving, heat again on low fire to desired drinking temperature (if you have an electric milk frother, use it to foam up and thicken the tea). Finally strain out the spices while you pour the tea into a mug.

Note:
-You can adjust the water-milk ratio to your preference. For a less milky version, try 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of milk. Or for an extra creamy version, omit the water entirely.
